My experiments with Gardening

Not sure when and how this thought came to my mind.. Probably, the session on 'growing micro-greens' organized by HR..may be..may not be..

I was not much into gardening. I buy some plants from nursery and water them regularly.. some died.. some survived.. I never took it seriously..My sister, my grand mother, my mother's sister are experts in gardening..they grow lot of vegetables in their home..I've never bothered to give it a thought as we always stayed in a rented house and the feeling of - what if we move out of this house?

So, I always kept this thought aside.. These days, I became an expert in preparing mint rice and I made it a habit to buy mint every week..A friend of mine suggested a website to buy gardening essentials and seeds..I've ordered coco-peat and mint seeds... But, left them aside for 2 months.. One fine day, a lady in my neighborhood offered beetel saplings and I collected one (in spite of me not knowing her and overcoming my shyness to meet new people)..I planted it in one pot and took out my supplies and planted mint seeds along with some tomato and lady's finger seeds... They germinated within a week and my joy knew no bounds to see those tiny seedlings.. It was a feeling beyond words.. I became greedy and started researching it a bit. Listed down the seasonal flowering plants, noted down their germination time, duration of sun-light & water needed, soak/no-soak before planting the seeds etc. ordered the seeds & was eagerly waiting to plant them.. I was feeling very exhausted with week's work and hence took off on a friday.. Made the potting mix and used an egg tray as a germinating tray and planted almost all of them.. Some seedlings are leggy and it is interesting to know that they grow towards the source of light and becomes tall towards the light and finally bend down.. It become a daily ritual to check the germination status & transplant them to separate containers.. Experiencing something new !!

Before the event..
